Renovating my craft room – step number?

The start…

For a long time I used the kitchen table when I was working with my albums. You won`t believe the mess I created:) It was so bad – really bad. In the spring 2008 my nephew Tor moved out and I moved all my stuff into the guest bedroom. I still worked at the kitchen table but I could look the door and hide the mess.

Late 2008 I got an old desk from my brother and I finally could leave the kitchen table…

I joined Wendy Smedley`s class Get organized and be inspired at Big Picture Classes in January 2009 and I finally got everything organized so I could find what I needed when I needed it…

I love this room even if it`s not in the best condition. I have talked and dreamed about renovating for a long time. Back in June I finally put in a request for financing renovation with the house owner – who also is my employer. Since I am a scrapbooker I added this photo…

Weeks later I received a positive answer. All good. But I still had to do the work myself. I am SO not a handyman. But, to move forward I moved a lot of stuff out of this room back in November, just keeping the essentials.

Since I may have found someone to help me out I have taken the next step. Completely emptying the room. (But I still need to work. So much inspiration coming my way from Stacy Julian in her “Twelve”- class at BPC). I decided to set up a work station in my kitchen…

Don`t ask how I managed to move those heavy shelves into my kitchen on my own. All I can say is that it involved a mat and will power:)

I sat up my Library of Memories in the livingroom back in November so the storage binders, cardstock and patterned paper is close…

So happy about Stacy tell us to spend time with our photos because I have not worked with my category boxes for a long time…

I don`t cook much so I think I will be okay working in the kitchen again…

…and since I am dieting anyway I celebrate with a healthy snack…

Funny thing – the only thing on my wall in my craft room is this page made during Stacy Julian`s  Have More Fun back in 2008…

Also a very inspiring class. I have to take this down an include it in a scrapbooking page.

Tomorrow it another day. The day I move the computer stuff. That is a challenge!

  1. Keep sharing your journey with us! I found it highly motivating. My scrapbook area looks like a tornado went through it. Right now I scrap on my round coffee table in the den, but since it’s just me that’s OK. Of course I have to pack up everything when my precious granddaughters come by.
What are some your plans for the room? WAY TO GO GIRL!!!
