Fishing in Torbudalen

Last weekend I was lucky enough to join the family for a trip to Torbudalen. Remember back in April when my nephew was snowed in up there? When we drove up the mountains I was stunned by the fact that the boy had the nerve to go up there during the winter. It is July 1 and the snow is still there…

Driving up there is not for me. I am old enough to remember when the roads were of a different standard but I do prefer to be able to meet another car without backing several kilometers:)

It needs to be said that backing is not my favorite thing to do. I`m just saying that it is a long way down and on your right side you are in danger of getting a block of stone in the head…

In spite or maybe because of the danger – the beauty is overwhelming…

The rain was pouring down when we left home so it was a pleasant surprise that the weather was okay. The drive from home is 3,5 hours and no – we do not speed that last mile. The locals who spend every weekend up there – do.

The princess was a happy bird all weekend. Of course she was – she had the attention from her grandma, grandpa and super-aunt all weekend – all to her self…

She surprised us all this weekend. She is not known to be a happy hiker but this weekend she led the way when we went hiking in the mountain. Who knew she wanted to go fishing…

Eager to learn? Well, like the rest of us – she like to think that she knows it all…

I do believe her grandmother was happy to discover that her girl was eager to go fishing because grandma love to fish. But, kids are kids and grandma make sure she has a firm grip…

Fishing is fun and this is a good time for a little girl talk…

Me? I rather let my mind wander. Dreaming of warmer weather and sand under my feet…

When there is a story there is a layout in progress and when ever there is a class with Nic Howard going on there are curling involved…
