The wedding album – part two

The  bride had her wish granted. She was transported in an open carriage from church…

…to fishermen’s houses to be photographed…

…before we crossed the Atlantic Road to Håholmen…

Of course we were too early for the boat and it was freezing cold in the wind so we had to buy a blanket for the bride. The first guests had arrived at Håholmen and were getting settled in their rooms while we were waiting for the next boat…

Transport in the open “Viking ship” in a bridal dress is not ideal but she took it like a trooper…

The captain thought she had funny footwear…

I am sure the hairdresser did her best but nothing could prevent the bride`s hair to blow in the wind. But who cares about that. She was beautiful and happy when she entered the dining room for dinner…

The groom spoke sweet words of love for his bride…

The best man`s speach was funny and telling…

The bride`s maid and the bride`s father both spoke heartfelt to the couple…

The groom`s mother brought tears to her son`s eyes. I do believe she is thankful for this being the last wedding for her children…

Family and friends gave their speeches of well wishing. The bride was touched by her younger brother`s words on behalf of him and his siblings…

All excuses to fill up the glasses are welcome:) Our aunt Inger always manage to touch our hears with her words about family roots…

Finally – time to welcome another bunch of guests for coffee, and some of us can have a cigaret…

And here comes the highlight of any wedding in this part of Norway  – the cakes…

Too bad we have to eat dinner before we can attack the cakes…

This is about the time I parked the camera. I am sure they danced, talked and drank but I have no evidence of that. Wich brings me to the day after…

Happily married – waking up to a beautiful Sunday with sunshine and a taste of summer. Some enjoyed breakfast – some did not. Then it was time to go home…

At home the babysitter had the kids organizing a lemonade sale and the boy was busy wiping off one more day of the countdown board for our vacation…

Now was the time for eating the rest of the cakes, saying goodby to hour guests, clean up the mess and pack our suitcases. Monday we left for two weeks at Mallorca. No – we did not follow the young ones on their honeymoon, they followed us:)
